How are people going to behave in the (near) future?
Keynote speaker & leadership trainer on future human behaviour & business strategy. How are people going to behave? And what are the implications for leaders and business strategy? These are the two questions Dutch strategic foresight expert and university lecturer (social-psychology) answers in his entertaining, interactive and practical keynotes.
Thimon de Jong leads a strategic foresight think tank based in Amsterdam. He explores the future of human behaviour, societal trends and generational change. These insights are then applied to leadership and business strategy. Thimon is an experienced keynote speaker and leadership trainer and has worked for clients like Morgan Stanley, Vodafone, IKEA, Novartis, Nike, Microsoft, Warner, Tetra Pak, L’Oreal and Swedbank.
Thimon also lectures at the social psychology department of Utrecht University. He is a former insights & strategy director at TrendsActive, researcher at FreedomLab Future Studies and editor- in-chief of RELOAD Magazine.
His first book Future Proof will be published in 2020. He was International Guest Speaker of the Year in Finland in 2016 and a jury member of The Best Idea of the Netherlands in 2010, a prime- time television show.
Future Proof Leadership
Thimon specialises in the topic of ‘future proof leadership’ in which he prepares (future) leaders for the 2020’s and beyond. He deep dives into the profound future behavioural changes in response to a rapidly digitalising post-truth world. Trust levels in society are imploding whilst tech developments are exploding spectacularly. What does this mean for leaders? How are we going to collaborate? And what does the next generation of talent want?
Thimon has five research themes for 2020/2021:
The Human Side of Tech – how will people step aboard the next generation of new technology?
Trust Transition – how to become a high-trust leader and a high-trust brand in a low-trust world?
Future Ethics – who will be responsible to solve the problems the world is facing?
Mental Health – what are the implications of and solutions to the impending global mental health crisis?
Gen Z – move over Millennials: the next generation is here! How are they different and what are their 21st Century skills?
The Whetston Team: innovative duo- & trio-presentations
Thimon has two keynote speaking colleagues who also present globally: Lecyca Curiel (1998) and sociologist Monte Königs (1990). WHETSTON loves innovations onstage and the team often present together, sometimes as a duo-, but also as a trio-presentation. An example of the latter is the keynote with the title: Three Generations on Mental Wellbeing in the 2020’s – how to get your people ánd your customers mentally healthy.
